For a lot of people going on holiday means letting go completely, but not everybody wants to spend their time off being a glutton by the beach, or they want to at least have a bit of balance. Luckily, Bali has an abundance of gyms and fitness programmes for holiday goers, so the beach bod can be maintained throughout a break on the paradisiacal island. No matter what your preferred form of exercise or your fitness goals, this Indonesian island has you covered. This is true whether you want to exercise casually or join a specialised programme. So, gym bunnies and power lifters rejoice, because we’re going to show you the best fitness spots and gyms in Bali.

Gyms in Bali

Hammerhead Gym

Hammerhead Gym in Seminyak is one of the best gyms in Bali and offers day passes for IDR 100,000, or seven session passes for IDR 400,000 that can be used over a fortnight, if you’re following a workout plan. This massive gym has everything you’d ever need and offers daily classes which are included in the day passes. They also have a number of highly skilled and friendly trainers, who can push you to achieve your fitness goals.

Crossfit enthusiasts can head to S2S in Canggu, where you can get a day pass for IDR 200,000 or a week pass for IDR 600,000, or even a one on one session with a trainer for IDR 600,000. They also have an expansive Fitness Holiday programme, which includes accommodation, unlimited classes, and yoga to help you unwind and recover well.

Another great Crossfit gym in Bali is Wanderlust Gym, which is the largest Crossfit gym on the island. With enough equipment to satisfy Arnie, they offer a range of temporary memberships. A one-week unlimited pass is IDR 650,000.

If you’re looking for low impact activities, then Movement Matters is your best bet. They offer a variety of sessions in Pilates, the Gyrotonic method, and Rossiter stretching. Each session is 55 minutes and costs IDR 369,000. Several packages are also available if you want to visit more than once.

If you’re more into yoga and other similar activities, Yoga Barn in the heart of the island is the place to be. There are hundreds of classes every week, and you pay in cash when you get there. Each class costs IDR 100,000 and lasts for 90 minutes, and you can rent a mat for IDR 50,000 if you don’t have your own. However, if you want to do your activities here you have to be quick: registration for classes is first come, first serve, and opens thirty minutes before daytime classes and one hour before evening classes (classed as after 7pm).
