Welcome to Miami! From the vibrant art deco buildings that nestle against the dazzling blue backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean to the award-winning restaurants that serve up some of the best seafood in the state, Miami has a certain allure that attracts visitors who want to enjoy an impressive combo of beach and city.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way – the beaches are spectacular (more on this later) and, thanks to the postcard-worthy weather, you’d be downright stubborn to ignore them. Yet the beaches only go so far to showcase what the Magic City has to offer; we’re just scratching the surface here.

Sandy stretches aside, expect incredible restaurants and the most authentic Cuban food outside of (well, you guessed it) Cuba itself, a thriving cultural scene and, of course, some top notch attractions. It’s fair to say you’ll never run out of things to do in Miami.

City glitz aside, nature lovers are well taken care of, too: from the Everglades to the tumbling waterfalls at Jungle Island, you might be surprised by the wildlife spots in Miami.

A visit to Florida simply cannot be without a trip to the renowned Everglades National Park, which is both a World Heritage Site and an international biosphere, and is home to a diverse range of rare and endangered species. Hop on an airboat and don’t forget to look out for those ‘gators.

Hot in the city

With its subtropical climate (read: hot and humid summers), there’s never a bad time to visit Miami. Temperatures rarely drop below 75F (24C), making it a superb choice for sun worshippers – after all, how else would those tropical plants and palm trees thrive year-round?

Miami in winter is a popular time to visit to enjoy the warmth of the sun on your skin without the humidity that gets those of us from milder climates a little flustered.

The best time to visit Miami is the summer where you can enjoy copious amounts of sun and heat, but be sure to slap on the SPF and cool off with one of the state’s most-loved drinks – freshly squeezed orange juice!

If you prefer cooler climes and slightly less of a madding crowd, then your ideal time to book a Miami break is between November and March.

Discover the real Miami

Spectacular sunshine, balmy breezes and calm, lapping waters, Miami is a jewel in Florida’s crown. From the relentless party scene, where you can go to one of the best pool parties you will ever experience, to the sizzling cuisine, Miami makes for an ideal holiday destination whether you sit on the party hard or relaxing beach time end of the spectrum.

And then there’s the seafood, which is unsurprisingly superb thanks to Miami’s proximity to the Atlantic. Miami’s food scene reflects its cultural diversity, so you’ll enjoy a myriad of multicultural flavours, from Little Haiti to Little Havana. Just make sure you leave room for a slice of key lime pie – the famous dessert originating in the Florida Keys.

From experimental art and meticulously landscaped gardens to people watching down the Lincoln Road and dancing until the sun comes out, Miami offers a never-ending list of things to see and do. Must-visit landmarks andthe most gorgeous beaches are just a smidge of Miami’s very insta-worthy displays.
