Weather

Madrid is almost 700m above sea level, so has a very dry climate. This means in the winter it gets quite cold, with occasional snow. Springs are temperate and bursting with life, and the summers can get quite hot, temperatures sometimes reaching the late thirties. However, in the evenings it tends to cool down very quickly, so a jacket is a must-pack.
When it does rain, it tends to do so in Autumn and Spring, but even then you’re not likely to get caught in a massive storm: Madrid is one of the driest capitals in Europe.

Discover the real Madrid

Street art tours, ancient museums, the Bernabeu – the list goes on when it comes to things to see and do in the Spanish capital. Culture vultures will appreciate the wonderful artistic establishments that call this city home, as well as the smaller venues that showcase the best and brightest of up-and-coming Spanish talent. Foodies will be happy to tuck into some local cuisine, but the city is also home to several world class restaurants from all over the globe, so there’s something for everyone. Even those who feel more at home under the shade of trees as opposed to skyscrapers only need to hop on a short train or bus to some of the best hiking and biking in Europe.
