Weather…
The best time to visit Munich? It has to be Oktoberfest to really see the city in full party mode. Weather wise, you’ll have a grand time, regardless of season. But if temperatures and rainfall are key? Drop in during spring. The city’s parks are in full bloom, but visitor numbers haven’t quite peaked.
Discover the real Munich
Pork knuckle. Rarely could two words be less appetising. Yet in Munich, it’s still served happily to visitors and residents. Meaty menus are very much still in vogue, though recently vegans have found traditional Bavarian treats cropping up in unusual places. Seek out any restaurants trying something a little different to balance out the wealth of beer and cheese you’ll be tempted by.

More of Germany
Fairytale castles and craggy alps are only part of Germany’s story. There’s a rich history to delve into too. Look beyond the WWII period and you’ll find Roman treasures, cultural moments and cutting edge design that spans more decades than we realise. Then there’s the food scene. Grab yourself a regional picnic and head for the woods. In the cities? You’re looking at an architectural melting pot well worth a stroll through sometimes cobbled streets.
