We’re putting it out there! You might not want to just have a day in Capri. However it’s absolutely ‘do-able’ to enjoy all the charms of Capri in a short period of time but it’s easy to miss out when there’s so many things to do in Capri.
If you’ve got the time, you’ll definitely want to carve out more than just a day in Capri, but if you’ve got a handful of hours to spare, that’s still plenty of time to enjoy the wonders of Capri.
Capri has plenty to offer everyone from foodies to shopaholics, there’s something for everyone in the Pearl of the Mediterranean.
09.00am - Take a boat tour
Before you even arrive on the island, why not stay on the boat for a quick mosey around the island on a fantastic boat tour?
One of the best ways to view the beautiful island is on the water and don’t forget you can stop off on the way to incredible places like the famous Blue Grotto, the famed Faraglioni of Capri, the Li Galli islands, the picturesque lighthouse at Punta Carena and more.
Why not choose a boat tour that allows you to dip into the sea for a quick swim or snorkel? This could be the perfect addition to your day in Capri!
You will be amazed by Capri’s dramatic coastline which is dotted with tiny coves and breathtaking grottoes.
11.00am - Have a coffee at the Piazzetta and go shopping
Enjoy a coffee at Capri’s most famous square, the Piazzetta which is THE place to see and be seen. It may be small, but it’s one of the most fashionable squares in the world!
One of the most popular streets close to the Piazzetta is Via Camerelle which has a fantastic selection of shops you can peruse which is an absolute must when spending a day in Capri.
From international designer outlets to traditional handcrafted products in bijoux boutiques, you are certain not to leave empty-handed.
Orbzii Insider: If you are looking to pick up a gift for either yourself or someone you love, why not pick up one of the local perfumes which are made on the island.
These are crafted using mixes that have been passed on generation by generation by the ancient Carthusian monks.
Shoe lovers will adore the famous Capri sandals that are made to measure and you can choose colours and styles that you’ll love.
13.00pm - enjoy a leisurely lunch
In Capri, there’s plenty of incredible restaurants to choose from, but one of our favourites is Il Riccio, a delightful nautical-themed restaurant with expansive coastal views.
If you are wanting to eat at one of the best restaurants in Capri, then you can’t go wrong with Restaurant Il Riccio – a Michelin-starred restaurant which can be found inside the Capri Palace Jumeirah hotel that overlooks the stunning vista of the Blue Grotto.
It might be on the more pricey side, but if you have just one meal and one day in Capri, you’d better make it a good one!
If you are a connoisseur of seafood, then you won’t be disappointed with the extensive menu which includes dishes like clams, scampi, tuna and cuttlefish.
There are some incredible creations like an out-of-this-world spaghetti alla chitarra with sea urchins and tuna belly with eggplants, red orange, toasted hazelnuts.
Make sure you leave room to try one of the incredible desserts – the Sfogliatelle (a shell-shaped Italian pastry), the delicate cream-filled Cannoli, or the local Torta Caprese (a chocolate and almond cake).
Absolutely delicious!
15.00pm - Explore the Augustus Gardens
Walk off lunch with a saunter through the lush gardens of Augustus where you can savour the most breathtaking views of Marina Piccola, l Faraglioni and Via Krupp.
Make sure that you find some time to enjoy some peace and tranquillity whilst enjoying your day in Capri.
The gardens consist of a series of flower-decked terraces overlooking the Faraglioni rising from the blue Tyrrhenian Sea to the left and the Bay of Marina Piccola to the right.
The terraces and gardens were constructed in the 1930s and the flora of Capri shape ornate picture frames for Capri’s breathtaking panoramas.
16.00 - Have some beach time
You can’t visit Capri without enjoying some serious beach time.
We recommend heading on over to Marina di Pennauro and Marina di Mulo, which are two of the most popular beaches on the island and it’s easy to see why.
If you head to Marina di Pennauro, not only will you enjoy an incredible view of the Faraglioni Rocks, but you will also have the option to hire sun loungers and order a great selection of food and drinks too.
18.00pm - Visit the Marina Grande
Before you leave the beautiful island, make sure you leave sometime during your day in Capri to explore the pretty hamlet of Marina Grande which is where you will be leaving the island from.
It’s one of our favourite places on Capri to watch the world go by with several cafes, bars and restaurants that have some of the best views on the island.
It also provides some of the most spectacular backdrops on the island such as the view from Villa Lysis or from Villa San Michele in Anacapri which you can also enjoy as you sail away from the Pearl of the Mediterranean.
