What images are conjured up when you think about the Seychelles? Picture-postcard perfect scenery giving you total wish-you-were-here vibes? If the palm-lined beaches, crystal-clear cerulean shores and spectacular coastline don’t win your heart, then maybe the spectacular coral reefs, the vibrant Seychellois culture and the World Heritage-listed nature reserves will?

We get it! You can’t come to the Seychelles and not enjoy some serious beach time – after all, the Seychelles is home to some of the most beautiful and insta-worthy beaches in the world. However as dreamy and unforgettable as the beaches are, to just laze upon them is a disservice as there are so many things to do in the Seychelles.

Are you ready? OK! Let’s get started!

Go snorkelling

Regularly topping the ‘most beautiful beaches in the world’ lists, thanks to its pristine white sands, swaying palms and its dazzling blue crystal-clear waters, Anse Lazio has it all. However, it’s also an amazing beach to snorkel on. If watersports are high on your list of things to do in the Seychelles, then snorkelling on Anse Lazio is definitely a ‘must do’.

The Seychelles has some of the most exciting and stunning marine life in the world and if you are hankering to explore this awesome aquatic underworld, Anse Lazio has fantastic water visibility with a deep drop-off into clear water affording the opportunity to showcase fantastic marine life like moray eels, damselfish, checkerboard wrasse, angelfish, reef needlefish, scissortail sergeants and more.

There’s also an abundance of sandy coves to explore as you walk down the beach to the south end.

Orbzii Insider Tip:

With any ocean-based activity there’s always a risk of getting stung by stingrays. They are stingrays on Anse Lazio, and we are sure that being stung by these little critters aren’t high on your list of ‘things to do in they Seychelles’, so shuffle your feet as you head into the water, keep your wits about you and consider wearing swim shoes if you are not wearing fins.

Get into nature

If exploring the very best in natural beauty is a must-do on your things to do in the Seychelles, you won’t be disappointed as Nature is in abundance all over the Seychelles, so

Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve is a nature park and UNESCO World Heritage Site on the island of Praslin which is the second-largest island in the Seychelles. It’s home to the endemic coco de mer palm tree and has a distinctive natural beauty.

There are three main hiking trails where you can weave your way through this primaeval, emerald-hued forest ranging from 1 to 2km. All three trails are well marked and are suitable for all members of the family. You can expect to see beautiful wildlife like endemic blue pigeons, bronze geckos, swiftlets, Seychelles skinks and sunbirds.

For even more hiking merrymaking, walk the iconic Copolia Trail at Morne Seychellois National Park, which takes you up to a 500m-high summit where you will be rewarded with superb views of the capital Victoria and bordering islands. Look out for miniature frogs and other creatures as you make your way to the top.

Tee off at one of the best courses in the world

Golfers will have a tee-rific time (yes we went there!) at the 5 star Constance Lemuria resort which boasts the only 18-hole course in the whole of the Seychelles archipelago.

Situated in Praslin, this is a fantastic yet a smidge challenging course, but it’s also beautiful. No more especially so than when you play the 15th hole where you will be able to enjoy some of the most spectacular views of Anse Georgette beach. Jaw-dropping vistas at the 15th aside, truth be told, the entire course has to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing golf courses not just in the Seychelles, but in the entire world.

All of the undulating fairways are nestled amongst palm trees, lagoons and lush green landscapes.
