From sightseeing in the city to lazing with a cocktail on a pristine sandy beach, or maybe a heady combination of both? Whether you are seeking adventure, culture, relaxation or perhaps something else, there are lots of options for the Easter holidays. Where will your wanderlust take you?
Florida
When you think of Florida, what springs to mind? Mickey Mouse and friends, world-famous theme parks, shopping malls, golf courses and…alligators. Whilst you get all of this and more (though hopefully not more alligators), there is so much of Orlando that slips under the radar. From the wild coastline where you can kayak and swim to your heart’s content to eating your way through the city’s favourite dishes, your Orlando itinerary just got even more exciting this Easter.
If you ever get bored of Orlando (something that is near-impossible) head on down to Miami and take in some of the sights along the way. If you love wildlife, our Orbzii Insider team recommend a visit to the Sebastian River State Park, where you can find wild manatees, pelicans and bobcats galore.
Majorca
If you are looking for a quiet but warm break for the Easter holidays, then perhaps the island of Majorca suits you. You can explore the pretty hilltop villages and the quaint towns of Deià and Valldemossa without worrying about crowds or the temperatures being too high.
Expect to be wowed by all the usual wonder that a mediterranean island offers: turquoise waters, sandy coves, and sweeping bays as well as the lush forests, hidden hamlets and almond groves. Majorca has a well-deserved reputation for its lively nightlife and excellent eateries, so rest assured that even before you can think ‘I’m a bit peckish’, there will be the perfect restaurant to scratch that itch: with a fantastic array for the vegans among you.
Rhodes
Rhodes is one of our favourite islands – let us explain why. It’s full of secret places to explore. Think incredible restaurants, hidden springs, lesser-known spots for water sports and, somehow, more.Â
We are sure you will want to discover those hidden gems for yourself, but let the Orbzii insider team lead the way. From devouring the best cheesecake in a rustic-yet-chic taverna to the best views for hiking and cycling, we’re ready to hit you with all our top suggestions.
With so many ways to traverse Rhodes, there really is no excuse not to get to the island and explore. Thankfully, the Orbzii app makes getting to Cyprus for the Easter holidays and beyond so much easier.Â
Dubai
Looking for guaranteed sunshine in the Easter holidays? Say hello to Dubai. An ideal destination thanks to its warm temperatures (that are not uncomfortably hot) and myriad of exciting things to see and do.
It’s easy to see why Dubai is the most booked holiday destination from the UK in 2022, thanks to its luxury hotels, beautiful beaches and some of the most delicious food in the UAE.
Tenerife
The island of Tenerife is a fabulous option for your Easter holidays thanks to its year-round tropical climate. Whilst you have the obvious mainstays like the mighty Mount Teide and Playa de las Americas, we’re here to tell you that this pretty island has a beauty that isn’t just skin-deep. It’s chock full of quaint villages, sandy beaches and lush landscapes.
Head down to the south of the island where you will find swoon-worthy shops, several colonies of whales and dolphins in the waters of Costa Adeje, and ample areas for water sports.
Hurghada
Egypt remains a firm favourite for the Easter holidays and, being a location for the newly released ‘Death On The Nile’, it is a star that continues to rise. If you look beyond the endless beaches and diving spots, you will find thalasso spas, fantastic restaurants and easy access to some of Egypt’s most memorable destinations such as the Valley of the Kings, the Pyramids and the Luxor Temple.
Sharm El Sheikh is a mere three hours from Hurghada, so if you want to get a real taste of Egypt, these are the two spots we would recommend: Which one will you prefer? We can’t wait to find out.
Cyprus
If the last two years have burnt you out, then Cyprus is for you. Stunning golden beaches, ancient sights, pine-cloaked mountains and a buzzing nightlife, this place has it all. Scratch beyond the surface of Paphos and you will find a plethora of world-class antiquities and relics scattered liberally amongst the quirky shops. You can’t visit without a meander around the Paphos mosaics which are situated near the harbour at the Paphos Archaeological Park.
New York
Is New York the ultimate city break? We think so! If you are ready for a bite of the Big Apple, then why not download our app to book your dream New York city break?
From the iconic landmarks that you have seen in blockbuster films to the less-shiny, but equally as worthy, areas of the city , New York has something for everyone, especially for those that dare to explore. From seeking out the best cocktails and cannolis in Little Italy and hanging out in the city’s miniature rainforest to having a quiet moment in the Whispering Gallery and perusing remnants of the Berlin wall in the middle of a Manhattan courtyard, this is New York reimagined.
Mauritius
Mauritius, Mauritius, Mauritius. With pristine sandy beaches, palm-lined shorelines and azure lapping waves, you may think you have stepped into some kind of dream, or an over-edited Instagram photo, but unbelievably this place is real! Also blessed with majestic mountains, lush forests, sacred temples, tea plantations and more, it’s hard to believe this place is on Earth.
If you hanker after a slightly less land-based experience, take a deep dive into the surrounding waters and try an island hopping tour where you might just spot some dolphins. Sitting on top of the water still too far for you? Then there are plenty of diving spots to choose from.
Antalya
Shhhh! Can you keep a secret? Antalya is having a real moment right now and it’s easy to see why. Here, the old and the new meet in the same place, with a delectable fusion of ancient walls and artefacts sitting next to glitzy malls, first-class restaurants and luxury resorts.
Out of the city, Antalya’s wilderness is home to jackals, bobcats and bears. Which really comes as no surprise in a place with such biodiversity. For those who are more predisposed to some H20, Antalya’s sprawling shoreline is the obvious choice for water sports.
After all that activity, you can be sure to have worked up quite an appetite. Luckily, Antalya is an absolute treasure trove for feasts of all kinds . Caffeine aficionados will love ‘Luna Garden’ bakery for its excellent coffee and waffles. If you are looking for an envy-inducing destination this Easter, then Antalya ticks all the tight boxes.
Phuket
Temples or Thai boxing? Teeing off or turtle spotting whilst diving? Regardless of what floats your boat, Phuket is one of those destinations that simply has it all. On top of all that, the Easter holidays are an ideal time to enjoy the balmy temperatures before the rainy season hits in May.
Whether you prefer some serious R&R on sleepy beaches or a dazzling array of activities, or anything in- between, you’ll find something you love on this island. And then there’s the food. The unbelievable, stomach-stretching food, which is just as incredible in a cafe as it is on the street.
Have we tickled your fancy with all this talk of gorgeous beaches, fabulous food, and the prospect of exciting adventures?
Bali
Whether you are a thrillseeker looking for your next high-octane adventure or are pursuing a slightly more slow-paced sojourn these Easter holidays, Bali will always leave you wanting more.
You can’t fail to be dazzled by the stunning sunsets, the vast monkey-strewn jungles and the ornate temples – this paradisiacal isle looks exquisite even through the lens of the oldest iPhone. From the beautiful Balinese architecture to the incredible beaches, it’s easy to see why it has been awarded the moniker of ‘Island of the Gods’.
